PORK - Strip

Texas trio of punk girls ,with garage punk undertones , pop sensibilities ,and a rockin' sound. This came out in 1994 after a pair of 7" singles (http://www.krecs.com/html/artists/artistpage.php?interest=135 ) ,then pretty much disappeared.Nice document of their songs. All 3 sing,and this was produced by Alejandro Escovedo. LIONEL JEFFERSON AIRPLANE - Farewell

The title makes it sound as if it's their last release,(ala ,Cream in the 60's) ,'tho Scoops said they are now back together! If the new stuff sounds anywhere near as good as this 2002 release,I want it! LIONEL JEFFERSON AIRPLANE - There's Kids In There

A 3 song e.p. ,from 2001 of garage/psych/punk/tardcore,that reminds me of the Homostupids,maybe a bit poppier.I'm pretty sure this has Scoops ,from Boy In Love,The Grateful Gus,Schultz,and other Wheelchair Full Of Old Men bands,in it.Really good and rockin',I think you will like it! HOMOSTUPIDS - The Whole World Is Homostupids!

For those who have not yet heard this band from the Clevo scene, pull your coat to this! A kind of cross of ,psych/garage/space/lo-fi/shitgaze/noise/tardcore , melded into a new music!
Looks like some choice cuts from almost every release,and a recent live set blended into the mix!I did the art for the cover of this,and the poster is from "HorribleFest-2011" ,which was a few weeks ago,and also featured Bake McBride (Food ,Poopy ,Scoops,and others performing Sockeye,Boy In Love,and Toughskins songs) ,and Cauliflower Ass and Bob (Food,again!),and what looks to have been a great goddamn line-up of groups,and a fun time was had by all in attendance.But back to what I was talkin about before , Homostupids are fuckin great! Support these guys and give'em your money!And definitely catch them live! Not homos!

THE GENTLEMEN -A Bunch Of Junk (Unreleased Acetate)

There were,and probably still are,a slew of bands known as the Gentlemen.This is one of them.They sound like some amateurish cover band,trying to break into the garage scene,in the mid to late 60's.Their version of ,"Hang On Sloopy"(which I recently found to be slang for a turd which won't detatch from it's exit tunnel),must be heard to be believed.The vocals are horrible,as in great,the bass sounds beautifully untuned,and the beat is slightly off-kilter.Then to follow up with an accordian led version of ,"Mack The Knife",is just ridiculous.The tune on the other side,does not appear to be the same band.A clue may be written on the sleeve I got the record in(from pal,Ralph Tarantino,owner of Ft. Myer's Record Trader) It reads ,:"Joe Hurley Remote (Stereo)".Anyone with a clue about this recording,get with me,thanks!Enjoy this extremely rare,unreleased acetate recording!

While waiting for the Dwarves new album ,(The Dwarves Are Born Again) to arrive,I give you this totally obscure,rare ,and unreleased set,probably recorded in the transition period between the psych Dwarves,and the hardcore Dwarves sound.This disc belies their influences,as they run thru 10 covers,mostly of unknown garage bands,but also GG Allin,The Dead Boys,Johnny Thunders and The Heartbreakers,and more.Great studio recording,I know hardly anyone has heard this,and you will be happy you did!

This band is described as,psych/garage/country/rock,and this single is from their first album in 1969.Their first album cover was designed by Phil Hartman of SNL fame,they played the Fillmore West with Johnny Winters and Eric Burdon.They only made one album after this,the guitarist later played some guitar on a few Monkees songs.Weird ,organ driven,mellow,dude.

this is a collection of 60's mexican garage bands ,doing covers of american songs of the times,such as :ghost riders in the sky,satisfaction,hang on sloopy,hey joe,and more.plus amazing original psych numbers,my fave being,"mary y juana",by los hitters,but there are so many great tunes here,sometimes a guitar is out of tune,or the vocals are wacky,or the rhythm is off,and that's what makes it so great ,to me.i have another collection like this which i will post if i get good comments on this one!
