SLUGGISHA IS 25 YRS OLD!!!

I am currently looking for 7 more artists renditions of the SLUGGISHA TAPES  cat mascot! This Saturday is the 25th anniversary of SLUGGISHA TAPES  as a label and the 7th year of this here blog as well!!If you can draw a cat head you are in!! the first 7 will be accepted .any after that will be used on future releases,artworks,etc.! I currently have 18 cat heads!!You will be credited!There will be a 5x5 grid of cat heads with the original by Steve Reed in the dead center. The 25 cat head pic will be used on a 25th anniversary release and possible t shirt,if there is interest.The drawings will also be used on future releases! Please join today! CHEAP LITTLE TART

This cdr ,by way of Noah Lyon a/k/a Doctor Ninja a/k/a Rocky Dentist , is a blueprint of the commandments of tardcore punk. This is one of the dumbest albums you are ever likely to hear ,right in the same alleyway as bands on Wheelchair,(Food is sampled several times ,and some of his hits are given remixes) and Sluggisha ,but with a twist. The music is almost entirely made up of samples ,from pop-culture songs ,and punk alike. The vocals are either Noah ruminating on some stupid or crude subject matter or another ,or sampled vocals ,with much weirdness interspersed throughout ,and crazy and funny samples between songs. The final track is a bonus 20 minute live gig ,which is out of this world. This shit is the shit!Noah is having a book launch party ,Thursday, January 12th, 2012, 6-8 pm

RAYMOND PETTIBON WITH SUPER SESSION - Torches And Standards

Extremely weird stuff here from Thurston Moore's imprint ,Blast First , featuring art and vocals from Black Flag artist ,and brother of Greg Ginn ,Raymond Pettibon. The band is a host of SST regulars ,Dave Markey ,Mike Kelley, and others. A few songs focus on Ricky Nelson ,and one even adopts some of Ricky's hit ,"Garden Party"! There is also a cover of John Coltrane's ,"Love Supreme" The picture disc ,and the album-sized art book insert ,are great pieces of art ,in themselves ,with Pettibon's usual style and captions. I really can't tell you exactly what's going on here ,because I truthfully don't know! Confusing and strangely obtuse.
