SLUGGISHA TAPES IS 32 YEARS OLD TODAY!! SLUGGISHA BLOGSPOT IS 14 YEARS OLD TODAY!! PLEASE SUPPORT US AT BANDCAMP!!

Today marks another historical year in the life of diy music label ,Sluggisha Tapes. Started as a mailorder cassette label in 1990, to distribute my own music,as well as that of friends and aquaintances. As I ,and the label grow older, the releases have slowed. There is so much more to come, though, and it will be a massive waterfall of years of pent-up releases, that have backed up the whole damn dam!Slowly the links on this blog are coming back, now using bandcamp to store releases,go here to download new,and old releases, https://sluggishatapes.bandcamp.com/         Sluggisha's Xmastravaganza returns this xmas season, after missing the last 2 years due to the state of the world. But this year ,volume #12 comes roaring back, picking up where #11 left off in 2019. All the Xmastravaganzas, and other xmas releases from Sluggisha, are located on this page!   https://sluggishasxmastravaganza.bandcamp.com/music   Also, looking for all thos swell Z.A.T.H.  releases, with myself and my pal Food Fortunata,as the most tardcore duo in history?? look no further ,as this is the ONLY place you will find these releases online!! (besides some stuff on youtube!)  https://zath2.bandcamp.com/   Sluggisha's youtube page has been busy since this time last year, when xmas songs were added ,and more stuff has followed, and continues coming! looky here for more!!  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrmgC9elXBKwxPHQw_PUkTw?view_as=subscriber         I plan on uploading much more older stuff, still working on tons of new releases, lots of youtube coming up,working also on podcasts, and focusing now on SLUGGISHA'S XMASTRAVAGANZA #12  2022. I get kicked off facebook frequently, and right now ,both my pages are in jail, since I am a criminal. To help me ,and to get yourself something in return,PLEASE go to one or all of my bandcamp pages, and gimme a lil love in the form of listens ,downloads, and most of all,$$$$ ,    I really need it,as I have not had a job since 2019,when I became homebound.Still active, until the day I die, wont stop kicking til the bitter end! Thank you all,for years of support, and thank you to all bands, and bandmates of myself, and my family and friends! Cheers to Sluggisha 32/14 years!!

KGA - KAREN GREENLEE ARMY - COOKING WITH GOOD FRIENDS

back in 1785 i met Mike Crotch ,he sent me some music and i sang on it one night when i was drunk. then i had to go back and figure out all the lyrics to the songs i sang, and i had to title them.it was hard figuring out what i said that night. it was a revelation when i found out what i was talking about. so i decided to make a cd of it and sell it. my pal THEE EPILEPTIC DRAGONFLY  a/k/a T.E.D. ,did the art ,and the original release of the cd in France.years later i put out a usa version, with different art. they are both great ,and both have the same songs on it. very limited ,at the time of this post some are still available!! some come with a ltd edition poster,if you buy both versions! the link goes to sluggisha's bandcamp where you can download and/or purchase your copies now!   https://sluggishatapes.bandcamp.com/album/karen-greenlee-army-kga-cooking-with-good-friends

BUILDING A BETTER MOUSETRAP - A TRIBUTE TO CAT MACHINE - Lava Church Records 2012 compilation

Finally!!! after 9 long years, this cassette from 2012 has made it to the blog.CAT MACHINE IS FOR YOU,EVEN IF YOU NEVER HEARD OF THEM!!!Long out of print,if you own a copy, limited to 50,recorded onto recycled cassette tapes, and distributed by Lava Church Records, then you are a purveyor and seeker of ,underground, cult, weird, odd, avant garde musicians. This upload also includes a song which has gone unheard for years, submitted but never added to this tape.Useless Pile's version of "Boiling In The Bathtub",is the final track on this, still a mystery thats never been solved! Anyways, check out this tribute,to the little band that could,a group of punks whose sheer tolerance for the world, impacted an unknown number of kids, into starting their own bands! The band of bastards that spawned hundreds of bastard bands!! Read the notes on how the band (and the Sluggisha Tapes label!) ,got it's start, and read the lyrics to every song included here, also bonus stuff in the download are rare flyers and art. Throw money at this release (and my small,as of yet, bandcamp catalog) ,and help me and my wife survive another day!! thanks all!!!

That's right.it's the eleventh straight year of demented, noisy, punk rock, and non traditional xmas music, from your favorite troupe of dimwits ,on the Sluggisha Tapes/Blogspot roster! I can't say enough about this awesome compilation, and all the great folks ,who came together,to make this possible! Mikey D. did the front cover art this year, and Gray Meatballs did the back cover, whilst G O D compiled this whole mess.Got some punk rock, some noise, some tardcore, some metal, some experimental, some hnw,and the lounge-y sounds of the world's most infamous crooner, and keeper of the old world,GROB!! This usually featured on radio and internet outlets ,nationwide, every year.Let's hope this year is no different!

HAPPY 29TH ANNIVERSARY SLUGGISHA TAPES & HAPPY 11TH BIRTHDAY SLUGGISHA ONLINE!!!!

Sluggisha Tapes is 29 years old today! In 1990 started as a mailorder diy cassette label. For more details, drama, inside scoops, and dirt on the label, the bands, the people, the songs, the shows, and the longevity of the greatest unheard, underground, cult music label, ever ,get ready for "SLUGGISHA TAPES - The Book!" authored by yours truly, and published by Auspicious Apparatus Press,by my friend and book publisher,(amongst other talents),Todd Barselow, hopefully in time for Sluggisha's 30th Anniversary, next year,on this day!!Anyone who has stories to tell or pics for the book get with me at  sluggisha@gmail.com .thanks!

It is also the 11th Birthday of Sluggisha.blogspot.com ,and other outlets on the web ,(just google "sluggisha"). Most links on the ol' blog are dead now, after uploading the full blog 3 times, and it's been deleted each time! I hope to rectify all links before "Sluggisha Tapes - The Book" comes out next year!In the meantime ,if you find something on this here blog that you wanna hear, shoot me a line at  sluggisha@gmail.com  and I can most likely send you a link or file, within a few days. Thanks for all your support over the years ,and many more to go!! Next up : SLUGGISHA'S XMASTRAVAGANZA #11

SLUGGISHA'S XMASTRAVAGANZA #10 -2018

It's that time of year again! The 10th volume of Sluggisha's Xmastravaganza is now available for download on bandcamp for free.I only get 200 free downloads a month so if any of you can pay a small fee of any amount,it will free up more free downloads,as I anticipate much more than 200 downloads, especially this month. My files at archive were all deleted,so most links on this blog are dead.I am seeking out a new file hoster or looking into starting a netlabel on archive, with nothing other than bands/projects on my label. So this year ,for the first time ever ,the Xmastravaganza is on bandcamp. The awesome cover art was done by Michael Elvidge ,who also did a song for the comp! Back cover pooped together by resident in-house artist ,Gray Meatballs. We ended up with 41 bands doing 56 carols of all shapes, sizes, and sounds.A good third of the bands here are of the noise variety, the rest are of every style/genre.Jingle Bells was the most submitted song with 9 versions, one in a medley, some barely recognizable as such, some very trad.,dad.I can't say too much more, other than,go listen, download, play on your radio show/podcast/xmas parties, make copies for friends/family,just go!We are usually featured on the Dricore show on WCSB ,Cleveland,Ohio ,on every Xmas show, hopefully this year will be no different!
