THROTTLE - New Freaks On The Block 7"

Heat Blast Records ,outta NJ ,put this out in 1991. Featuring the original Oderus Urungus of Gwar, on vocals ,tho' this sounds like a Rollins Band/Soundgarden hybrid ,in the days between post-punk and grunge. A 45 that plays at 33. Joey Slutman (nee Annaruma ,vocals) is now in the Philly based band,Man Is Doomed. Not much to be found on the web about this here slab.

AVON CALLING - The Bristol Compilation

Noteworthy for being the first release on Heartbeat Records,back in 1979,this album is full of quirky,poppy ,strangeness ,as well as straight forward punk and oi music.Very post-punk stuff which has aged well.Sounds fresh today,and it grows on you.There is something in the water in Bristol,cuz all these groups have a unique,yet unified sound. Bonus:great inserts of upcoming releases!
