It's Halloween again ,and time for another compilation of various bands covering the Misfits.This time around there are spoofs,acoustic,comedy,goth,techno styles as well as metal and punk versions,and some fine Danzig impersonations on his "shopping list" and "to do list",ha ha!.The picture above is a Jerry Only paper doll ,you can download it at kngl.blogspot.com  ,and print it,cut it out and build it!They also have Rollins and Lemmy dolls ,but this is Halloween and the Misfits! MISFITS - Eyes To Despise

A rare double-album boot! Compiled from several other boots,this has demos,live shows ,and "Return Of The Fly" ,which was unreleased at the time(1990).The track list is mostly right ,it lists 49 tracks ,when there are actually 53 cuts! I fixed it on the mp3's ,like you don't already know these songs! Doyle signed it on the bottom of the eyeball to the left (see close-up), and it's on Johnson Records of NY. Not a bad comp. I've heard much worse. There are a couple of skips and some surface noise ,but,alas, it was pressed on inferior vinyl.This is only my second or third time playing it in 20 years. I left in every second of Doyle tuning up between nearly every song ,cuz' that's the way their shows were ,and I'm going for the full effect! Halloween is nigh ,and I will be posting more related stuff ,another Misfits covers comp. and a Halloween collection akin to last year's ,"Music To Eat Brains To" ,compilation!

DEDBOLT - Artane 7"

These guys are from Kentucky. They sound like Danzig/Rollins fronting The Melvins. Yes ,it's pretty heavy ,fitting into that space between death metal and stoner rock. Pretty decent for the 99 cents bin!

THE MISFITS -Live Michigan WCBN

A live recording,from approx,late 82 ,early 83 ,from a radio station in Michigan.Some of the tracks listed on the back cover are wrong,one is missing,and one is mis-spelled.I corrected all that,but in these grooves ,you will find the boys doing a song, rarely played live ,"Who Killed Marilyn?"Doyle's guitar is more often than not,out of tune,and it sounds as if he's playing the tunes wrong at a few points,he's so de-tuned.Danzig does his best to sing to this,and you can tell,by this point in his career,he's pissed!Songs from the upcoming(at the time) Earth A.D. album are performed,as well as the classics.I haven't seen this particular show posted elsewhere,so come and get it!!WCBN ? Isn't that the "Christian Broadcast Network"? ha,ha!

DEVILOUNGE -Live !

A Las Vegas style lounge tribute to the Misfits.The vocalist sounds just like Danzig,and even throws in hilarious comments between each song.The lounge music is mixed with other styles like,ska,reggae,country,rock,punk,and a great version of,"Bloodfeast",done to the tune of the "Three's Company",theme song!Very funny,and entertaining,to say the least!

MISFITS - A Walk Among The Dead

This single,has 7 classic tunes,i've only heard these versions here!I think this is a boot of a fiend club thing,but i've never seen it posted before.I have a bunch more Misfits stuff i haven't seen anywhere else,as well.Mine's on red vinyl,from my pal Ralph Tarantino at Record Trader in Ft. THE MISFATS

This band's singer once said,"I heard of the Misfits,they've taken some of our songs,took out the food references,and sing about horror movies,and stuff".Yes ,with songs like,"Mommy,Can I Go Out And Grill Tonight?", and "Hungry Moments",the fattest of all Misfits tribute bands,is spot on.Even covering the "new" Misfits,with ,"Don't Open That Mayonaisse", and Danzig with,"Butter",it is very chuckle-worthy.Genius move,great fat skull logo ,and lyrics.

MISFITS-Live at Finder's Lounge,Hallandale,FL - 10/19/82

28 years ago,on this day(19th),the Misfits performed a live gig,that has all the frailties and foibles,usually found in Danzig-era shows.Doyle's guitar is out of tune ,more often than not,lots of tuning up,Glen bitching,someone messing with the sound board,folks unplugging equipment,you know the drill.When they do build up a head of steam,it's harcore style ,all the way,as they tear thru 22 of their hits!Not the worst boot i've heard,but,not the best either.

yep,1 of 750 makes it rare.the 2 songs are,"777"(of course)and another version of"when death had no name".nice companion to the subpop 666 single i posted earlier,but the sound is not so good.listen when danzig says the song title 777,you can hear the kid who recorded it,parrot him and say,"777",and then chuckles like butthead.the recording is obviously from a hand -held,in the audience,and sounds compressed.could'nt really get much volume out of it.still ,another bootleg collectible!

yes this is a bootleg.the first side was an unreleased song at the time,this is the original version.then there's an elvis presley cover,and a demo of "possession",which reminds me slightly of the misfits,"bloodfeast".this is probably the coolest single he ever put out as danzig,sub pop,yeah right!
