VARIOUS ARTISTS - St. Patrick's Day 2012 Live At The Swamp III

Happy Easter ,everyone! Here's 4 bands on the Brown Bear Records label ,had a little party/living room gig ,on St. Patrick's Day ,and recorded the whole affair. Jake Joyce ,of Seasonal Men's Wear ,Nacho Knees ,and other bands and projects ,goes first with a set of topical holiday covers ,all done acoustic folk/punk style. Next up ,representing the Black Metal underground is Severed Vein. Then G.A.T. ,takes the stage ,and blasts out a few rounds of poppy punk stylings.And finally the duo of, The Dirty Heels ,featuring the lovely and talented Danielle (my new favorite female vocalist!) ,on the smooth,sultry ,and sexy vocals backed by Tommy on guitar ,slingin' covers ,and originals (mis-titled ,the real titles are: track 15 "Faking It" , track 17 "All I Wanted") ,that sound like oldies cut from the same cloth as the covers!. This is a great release ,and everyone should enjoy it! Props to Jake for sending it in ,and all the bands for getting together for this release!

BABYGOAT/SEASONAL MEN'S WEAR - Greetings From DeKalb

Jake and SMW on this split with Babygoat ,they each do a half dozen songs ,then they collaborate on one number.Babygoat is almost like a jr. league Unicorn Hole ,kinda tardy/black metal/nintendocore. Cool enough ,but the SMW tracks hold enough stories in them ,to write a book!Recorded at various times between 2006-2011 ,one of the songs took over 2 years to record!! There is a good letter from Jake in the zip ,which explains some of the story ,but leaves your thirst for knowledge on this release ,slightly unquenched. Really cool stuff ,limited edition of 50 discs ,on Brown Bear Records!! Look out soon for Jake and I in our new band together ,NACHO KNEES!

An all-new band of tardcore fools ,comin' straight at ya in the 2012!! They have a cover of that gem of a song (Dumb Audio Dynamite's "2012") ,ready for that 7" single ,out soon on Wheelchair Full Of Old Men Records!(not on this release,sorry!) But this is a horse of a different color (and smell!) Short ,dumb songs ,with stupid vocals and lyrics ,accompanied by acoustic guitar,spastic keyboards ,boob drums ,and funny samples ,in between songs! As you can see by the track list on the back cover ,the subject matter is that of degenerate minds. This is only the beginning! Mix Master Toilet Wig ,has been expressing interest in re-mixing this mess (as well as working recently on a new band (as yet un named ,tho Doctor Ninja suggested "Leather Penis") ,with an upcoming release, with Noah Lyon of Retard Riot ,and doing a re-mix version of the song "2012" ,for the single ,and also providing the music for Jake (of Seasonal Men's Wear) to sing on ,for their new band ,Nacho Knees (look here for it soon!)). WELCOME TO THE SWAMP - FURRY FURRY RABBIT/DEMETRI THE UNFAVORABLE/THE SWAMPSON QUARTET -split

A limited edition of 30 , 3 great bands in the vein of Boy In Love and other WCFOOM bands , sent in by ,and featuring ,Jake from Seasonal Men's Wear. Furry Furry Rabbit covers Collective Soul's ditty ,"Shine" ,and do all excellent tunes including the masterpiece ,"Sitting At Home (Drinking A Beer)". Demetri The Unfavorable do "That Came Out Of Left Field" which is a friggin' riot ,"The Hamburgler" , which is righteous ,as are the rest of their tracks. It's called Dine-In-Cakes, and the album is called "Midwest as Fuck E.P.". A couple of the dudes from the newly established full-band version of Seasonal Men's Wear are in it. Kinda ended up sounding like the Homostupids with a growling vocalist. " . Me?,I like it,I just wish there was more!

CONNOR THE BEAST - Mega-Morning

A drunken ,living room,tardcore jam,with guitar laying low in the back,while a stupendously drunken Connor ,bellows out some words. Jake ,from Seasonal Men's Wear ,sent this in,and here's what he said: " a recording from my friends Connor and Matt, who also play in Dine-In-Cakes (Connor is also a SMW dude). Anyways, it's pretty funny, at least I'd like to think so. Connor is trashed while Matt tries to take the situation seriously. I'm not even sure if a description will hold, it just needs to be listened to. " I tend to agree with Jake's assesment of this 2 sided tape recording.No split tracks,to preserve the continuity of this masterpiece!

SEASONAL MEN'S WEAR - Septovember

My pal ,Jake (via Food Fortunata),and his band ,who have appeared on a few Wheelchair Full Of Old Men compilations,and release their own recordings,apparently based on the seasons of the year.This is obviously about the Autumn season.Maybe in the fall,Jake will send in the Spring cd ,for posting!Pretty well-played acoustic guitar numbers(And one experimental piece,about Halloween,which sounds un-like anything else on this e.p.),with hilarious lyrics.Jake was also on the Food interview on WCSB,a few months back.This kinda reminds me of some prime Boy In Love,before they went electric.Look for them at myspace,and a video on youtube!Can't wait to hear what Jake sends in next!
