hmmmm...the track 'Weimaraner', on the first zip is actually the duo known as 'Obligatory Niggers'.

'Nada Thing' is actually one of MY songs that Joel played on...
And the OCH track 'Black Eye' is in fact called 'Hannibals Come'
And the OCH track listed as Weimaraner is actually 'Kewpie Face' by the aforementioned 'niggers'

I'm sure yr just going by the listing you got, but just clarifying...

thanks for this. tho im pretty sure only a small percentage will be worth keeping. its much easier to separate the reet from the crap this way than on that old tape.that D Roth post rilly made my day, danke again. meine freund schafte. J

ahh yes Nada Thing. thats one of those songs where Tony exhibits his firm grasp of classic pop songwriting techniques and conventional musicianship. So unlike the rest of us. Ahem!! anyway is that even a song? it seems to be a noise piece and not a very good one at that. so please Tony assume ownership. Thank You. however his designations re: other tracks mentioned are right on(i think) joel

upon closer inspection, im pretty sure that trax 16-25 are all by the aforementioned duo of T and me (obligatory n-bombs. was a gas to hear those old OCH cuts. esp my catchy 'lil group sex ditty,"3 ring girl". luv them bells!!, tho using em on the next song immediately thereafter is TOO much of a good idea. -J

I use the term 'song' loosely...didn't want to call it a 'piece' cuz it sounds pretentious. It really doesn't matter either way, I just thought it was strange that it was even ON this post.
I guess the Roth trax I mentioned must be on the tape with the Jefferson's theme...

PS- I never said anything about possessing or even giving a fuck about 'classic pop songwriting technique' OR 'conventional musicianship'...dunno where ya got THAT...but I CAN play the same parts more than once, for whatever that's worth...i.e. nothing in particular.
Just don't know why yr 'sniping'.

snipe,snipe....gotcha, anyway its a belated reaction to yr post on the video clip of wine, wine, wine. I (and V) think u come off a bit snooty and it stuck in my(our)craw(s) so hadda vent finally. anyway sorry if yr all wound up. i feel better now. except of course im hurting from my recent bike crash..Ouch!!

I assume the line "We used a mallard duck/And some old newspapers/to make oatmeal/" from track 14 is a nod of respect to Men Without Hats and I just wanna say thanks. -Ivan

To Joel--
I just re-read my Mebst comments, and I don't really see them as being 'snooty' at all...
Sorry y'all took them that way.
I was just stating a personal preference in that when everyone is playing full blast, and nobody can even hear what the other people are playing, it just comes off as NOISE, and not in a 'good' way.
I certainly don't think it has anything to do with my being more 'musically accomplished' or 'refined' or whatever, just personal taste.
Am I not entitled to dislike something?? A lot of Cat Machine I find nearly unlistenable for the same reasons.
Anyhow--hope yr recovering well.

alrite boys let me tell it the way i remember it.first off mebst was a fake band made up on the spot for the movie pissing out the poison a/k/a/ wine, wine, wine which is the title of the mebst song which is on the soundtrack three times with different style music each time,i probably picked the noisiest version for the video cuz it was extreme,as far as noise,it sounded good when we were recording it,and the video dub does it no justice,i have a few myopia tapes that are noisy as or just as noisy as mebst or anything else we ever did.the apocalyptic centurions are one of the noisiest, loudest bands ever anywhere, and i can still hear musicality in it.hell,i'm uncut and noisekillr.i guess i can take noise and non conformity better than most or i could just be insane.i mean listen to uncut ,any release, all the way thru, and tell me you have'nt changed as a person inside, ans i'll tell you to blast some noisekillr in your ears, and see how that fits!i like noise, and i can see how it could annoy some people, but all in all ,noise is good.i agree cat machine had it's noise moments.and even skipped a few tapes on post #100(the mega-cat machine post!)because i could find nothing redeemable for that post, but as a noise band, that few tapes, would probably blow away anyone into a noise scene.i hate to be causing arguments, especially between brothers, but i'm just trying to make history of our little homegrown scene.i love all you guys, and long for the old days all the time.but it's now and this is an important piece of history(to me at least)and i hope others find interest in something we merely did for fun. p.s. is that comment above really from men without hats? that would be a fucking riot if it was!thanks your pal.ed!

The thing with Myopia was, our moments of all-out cacophony were usually tightly measured. 'Everyone play whatever from this point to this point'
Usually 8 bars...goddamned 'musicality', wtf?

Note that I only did ONE run with the Centurions. And, even that, I was only on two tracks.

if you listen to anything long enough ,it becomes music,in a sense, noise or not, even measured noise, wtf?sorry if i've offended you,i'd rather hear noise than the top 20 or any commercial radio crap.some don't like noise,it's a matter of taste, bad or otherwise.this post has the most comments of any on the blog, keep it going.no arguments, you are correct sir, noise is what it is,some folks might consider all of our stuff noise, fuck 'em!i'm focusing now on the new posts which is all out of state bands, check out the first few posts, and you'll hear true noise, acid bum trio, and trauma room, there's noise for ya pal!
