W.G.O.D ,the greatest underground/pirate radio station ,to ever hit the airwaves (back in the 90's in the Ft. Myers,Florida scene!) ,is now available as a Godcast (podcast)! This episode is the midnite show from July 9th of 1994. G O D is joined by guest d.j. J A H ,of W.T.H.C. radio ,and there are liners and drops by oldie station d.j. extrordinaire ,Doug Shannon ,at every twist and turn of this fine show.Food Fortunata even lends his talents with a couple of between song messages himself! Spiritual Chicken is Frank Goshit ,of Canada ,sounding much like a demented gypsy ,if she was a chicken on acid.I think I can detect some large bells or chimes ,bonging on some of this track ,a piece that will do almost nothing to relax you ,my friend! ONE FELL SWOOP - Live! at the Corkscrew Ranch ,Ft. Myers ,Florida ,3/21/1992

This is the second to last show by these guys (the next day was our final gig at Serena's ,a rock/metal club in Cape Coral ,but more on that later!) We were first to play in a line-up of over 10 bands ,our first time with a bass player ,Vance Burdge ,helping us out. The music sounds top-notch ,but we were out doors ,and the P.A. system was not loud enough to catch most of the vocals.Pictured above is beautiful, royal palm-lined McGregor Blvd. ,a side-road off of which led to the ranch.A very receptive crowd of everyone in the scene was in attendance ,and it was one of our finest moments. As previously mentioned ,the next day was our last show at Serena's ,and we had a flyer which stated it was a benefit for some dead girl ,who was not actually dead ,at the time ,and her parents were awfully pissed off ,when they learned of our advertisement.There were hair-bands and metal-heads galore ,we were the only alt-rock college music band playing ,and they sent us off to the upstairs stage ,while they ruled the main stage on the lower floor. Since we had drawn a crowd upstairs ,these fucking heshers followed us up ,as to eject us from the stage.A classic line was thrown at me and Chipmonk by one of them ,"Hey ,did you teach him to play guitar ,or did he teach you?" My reply was ,"We taught each other!" They did not like that,to say the least. Sadly the gig was not recorded,so this Corkscrew Ranch gig ,is our final recorded legacy. There is still one missing studio track ,with the core trio ,and Eric "Trig" Triglet ,on vocals (produced by Vance at his Kitty Grind Studios ,in the Cape). When I locate that ,I will surely post it ,as well as some remixes from various live offerings. Enjoy it ,and wish yourself back to the salad days of the FTM. Recorded 20 years ago,today!!!!!

Newly-minted ,from the Seattle noise band ,with Spaceship Andy and Frank Silverberg at the helm ,along with some extra members on vocals ,Jeep and Flacia. 177 short,untitled ,and creative blasts ,though one number tops the 5 minute mark ,and a few more are around 2 to 3 minutes.This could be their masterpiece ,at least, so far,as there will be much more to come from this experimental group. An eye (er ,ear?) opening experience,to be sure. Fanahan is Dylan on lunch break ,kinda quiet sounds ,maybe some tapping on a table ,or a soda bottle cap? Weird. The debut of an all new band featuring GOD ,Dylan ,and The Katter. It is a multi-faceted experience ,with songs of varying lengths and textures. Classified as a dissonant/prog/space/punk/blues/noise band ,this shit really grabs you by the boo-boo ,and tears it the fuck off!! The shortest number is just over a minute ,while the longest clocks in at almost 27 and a half minutes! This is experimental progressive rock ,in the vein of The Godz , Chrome, early Pink Floyd, Hawkwind , The Dead C , maybe even a little of the ol' Cat Machine!
Just really great tripping stuff ,good for drinkin' to ,and just zoning out and listening. You will be transported to another dimension! Dylan is Nasal Death and Stupid Pooping Crap ,and Frank Goshit also does Belly Duke.Frank And I (as Noisekillr) also just did a splitteo (see above this post). This is cool tho' ,Nasal Death is a parody/tribute to Napalm Death ,but instead of grindcore ,you get nosecore! Lots of sniffing and sniffling.Frank Goshit mostly talk/sings and hits things with a stick.Stupid Pooping Crap almost sounds like a sea shanty,as if sung by Dylan.And Belly Duke is Frank playing his stomach as a drum ,and talk/singing again,nearly matching Stupid Pooping Crap in the sea shanty department.Only 20 copies were made. This is real experimental shitnoise.Good!

Noah uses all manner of cutural snippets in sampled form ,and distorts them into little soundscapes. This is neat-o avant-garde music by an accomplished artist. Much different from past releases ,this features a lot of Whitney Houston ,and maybe even more chilling ,it was recorded over a year ago ,a premonition of things to come! HELL GARBAGE/TEENAGE MUSTACHE -split

Dylan Houser (FL) and Dead Ken Frilly(WA) collaborate on this new split of shitcore noise. Hell Garbage's 30 minute piece, is overmodulated feedback crud ,which makes my ears feel massaged as if by barbed wire. Teenage Mustache's 25 minute track is samples and distorted loops with interpolations of screeching feedback laden sounds. This is cool and very experimental.

Most of the tracks sound like accapella shitcore ,a couple tracks have brief hints of guitar ,but mostly just a couple of guys sittin' around ,grunting and groaning ,and tapping sticks on stuff in a percussion-like manner. Only 20 of these were pressed,recorded in Nov. of 2011.I will be on a splitteo (split video) with Frank ,using my moniker of Noisekillr ,coming soon to youtube ,and this blog!!

JERRY JEFF WALKER - Nolan Ryan (He's A Hero To Us All)

First off ,this is dedicated to my friend, Food Fortunata ,a walking encyclopedia of baseball knowledge.And seeing how spring training has begun ,I thought it a good time to pop this up on the blog.This single ,from 1990 ,on Tried and True Music ,is the story of one of the greatest baseball players in history. Jerry Jeff a/k/a JJ ,wrote "Mr. Bojangles" back in the 60's , Brooks and Dunn did a song about him ," The Ballad Of Jerry Jeff Walker" ,and JJ discovered Jimmy Buffet. We'll excuse all that stuff ,and just focus on this country-tinged song ,about Nolan Ryan. JJ's son,Django (pictured on the cover ,by his dad ,wonder if he named him after Django Rheinhardt? probably so!) , is now also a country music artist ,often opening for ,or joining his dad on stage. Hey ,batter,batter,batter.....SWIIIING!!!!!

THE DONNAS/TOILET BOYS split 7"

The Donnas ,towards the end of their existence ,sounding much like the Runaways and Kiss ,and other 70's hard rock outfits ,meet the Toilet Boys ,who also favor the sound of 70's styled hard rock ,put this split out thru Lookout Records back in 1999. I like the Donnas ,but I prefer the early stuff ,when they were aping the Ramones.The Toilet Boys ,well,I've never seeked out any of their other stuff ,so I can't really speak on them,other than to say ,their lead singer looks like a girl ,but is not! This is pretty rockin' though! On pure white vinyl (see pics in zip)

Spaceship Andy and John Kaagootaabaa ,did this podcast from Washington State and North Carolina ,one of 'em in each state.Lots of funny discussion ,not much music ,and barely a mention of Whitney Houston ,except to note that she's dead ,and deserves to be so.A great new project ,let's hope it continues on in to the future! 5 shitcore bands on this shplit.Kurt Cobain makes an appearance ,from beyond the grave ,and he's much more rockin' now! Stupid Pooping Crap's track is the longest ,sounds like someone taking a shit while talking and hitting something with a stick ,in 3-D!!.Flounder takes you on a ride ,specifically the Michael J. Fox ride!St. Fud is more talking while pooping and banging on stuff.Duschbuller follows in the same fashion ,and finally Kurt Cobain's Wal-Mart demo ,just great schtuff on this shplit! If I were you ,I would follow the instuctions on the back cover to ,"listen to Hell Garbage ,instead"! Weirdness from the new noise scene ,the shitcore kids!

FACEPULLER - Pull This 7"

North Vancouver ,BC Canada is where these boys lay their heads. They've been compared to Big Black's noisepunk attack ,but I don't hear that kind of ferocity here. Known as the loudest band in their town ,this was their very first 7" single from 1991 on their own True North Records label. Now out of print ,they were on several compilations ,had music on skateboard and snowboard videos ,and put out a few full-lengths. Classified as a cross-over punk/noise/metal band ,it's all grunge to me.

Electronic body music known as "Belgian New Beat" ,back in 1989 on Kaos Records ,out of Belgium.Techno/disco ,grimy acid,slutty dungeon music ,whatever you want to call it ,this was a side project by the guys in Lords Of Acid.The chick on the cover looks like she needs a shave in the nether regions , side B is an instrumental version ,so you can karaoke to it!! I did not pay $7.49 at Vinyl Fever for this! Thrift store find!

ANDRE LE BEC AND HIS ACCORDEON & ORCHESTRA - Mardi Gras

On this Fat Tuesday ,I am cooking up some seafood etouffee ,have a king cake at the ready ,and I have this curious piece of instrumental music of The French Quarter ,in New Orleans. Happy Mardi Gras! says I. Lightweight accordion-led numbers ,with a small backing band. Could not find anything about this guy on the web ,but that is about the wildest album cover I've seen in ages! This goes out to everyone partying on Bourbon Street and the surrounding areas. I was there for Mardi Gras in 2005 ,just before Hurricane Katrina all but wiped out New Orleans. The following year's (2006) Mardi Gras celebration was low-key and very sad.So many lost their homes,possessions ,even family members ,and the really tragic part is that if you go to some of the parishes,piles of debris and rubble ,left behind by Katrina , have never been cleaned up.Our government is to blame for this travesty,they should have sent cleanup crews immediately.
The french part of their culture can be heard on this recording ,as the artist & song titles are french. Well I'm getting ready to chow down on some homemade creole cooking ,so I'll leave you with this. As a side note ,I noticed that every single song on this album ,ends exactly the same! Check it out if you don't believe me!

THE ALTERNATIVES - s/t 12" ep

Featuring Richard Lloyd (no,not that one!) and Barbara Carrera (no,not that one!) ,another new wave band outta Miami ,FL 1985.The Cars,Tom Petty,& Richard Hell ,come to mind while listening to this. Real cheesy new wave music and lyrics and vocals ,this is the shit! Included in the zip file ,is a flyer from my band ,Buzz Workshop ,and we used this band's pictures ,as our own! Ha ha!Another group of cuban/latinos ,cutting out their piece of the American dream. Power-pop for the masses! Pre-saging the use of the word "alternative" ,as it related to music ,and a premonition of the cover of the first Suede album ,with 2 androgynous faces.
