SECRET SOCIETY - Too Blind To See

A new-wave ,alt-dance band ,classified as "free-style" in 1987 Miami. Sounding (and looking) much like Duran Duran ,The Cure ,and Depeche Mode ,combined ,with a few other influences thrown in the mix. I gotta say ,the last number ,the stupidly titled instrumental ,"69" ,sounds almost note-for-note like George Michael and Wham's hit ,"Careless Whispers". Apparently people raved about this cuban/latino group ,back then. Pretty fucking derivative ,if you're asking me. Memories of 80's teen flick soundtracks will fill your cranium! The album looks more goth than it actually is.

Man, it is amazing you posted this. I embarassingly picked up this record in some Boynton Beach music shop in '88 or so (foolishly thinking it was some oi punk album - what with the "SS" on the cover) and was so appalled after the first minute of listening to it I actually convinced my grandmother (!) to bring me back to the shop where my thirteen year old ass demanded my money back. The shop grudgingly gave me store credit and I ended up buying COC's "Technocracy" instead. 25 years later I think I made the right choice.

Winston95 ,I do agree that you made the right decision! C.O.C. was a great band ,till they went full-on metal ,and began to blend in with every other band's sound,I prefer the Animosity album myself,or anything with Mike Dean ,who I consider their best vocalist. You can plainly see by the back cover photos ,that these guys had no skinhead affiliations at all , one dude even resembles that keyboard playing doctor lookin' dude who was in Prince's band at one point! Thanks for the comments ,I thrive on them!

"69" is the instrumental version of the album's title song: "Too Blind To See". If you let me disagree, I don't think that song resembles Careless Whisper so much but only a bit for the sax...
